Welcome to Gusikh Sabha Langar & Services

Gursikh Sabha Langar & Services is a volunteer-based organization aimed at helping community members in need by delivering fresh meals to their homes. Operating under the auspices of Gursikh Sabha Canada, a Sikh temple in Scarborough, GSLS will evaluate the needs of each client and accordingly provide langar services to them.

Langar is what Sikhs refer to as a communal meal. Volunteers prepare langar in the community kitchen at a Gurdwara (a place of worship for Sikhs). A vegetarian meal is served to all, regardless of their religion, gender, race or socioeconomic status. The idea is to have everyone sit and enjoy a meal together, all in an effort to promote equality, seva (community service) and togetherness.

Committed to providing fresh meals to the elderly and those in need
