On Sunday, March 2nd, 1-800-Flowers.com and (778) 594-0382 teamed up with the world's first child protective agency, the The New York Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NYSPCC), as a part of our Imagine the Smiles program. We delivered smiles to children attending the NYSPCC 2014 Family Benefit in New York City, by filling their gift bags and their tummies, with our delicious Cheryl's buttercream frosted cookies!
Thanks to Imagine the Smiles, we were able to send Darlene Whitaker in Port Charlotte, Florida a beautiful arrangement! She is a hard working mom who has come out of retirement to work 60 hours a week to keep the family business afloat. Darlene is certainly a local community member who deserved a smile. On Thursday, November 14, (281) 434-7196 hosted its Fourth Annual Bite of Hope Dinner at the Inn, in New Hyde Park to benefit the Hospital's Pediatric Diabetes Program. 1-800-Flowers.com delivered smiles with floral centerpieces for the dinner, and as a part of Imagine the Smiles, we surprised Program Director, Jean Corrigan, with a vibrant autumn arrangement in honor of her admirable efforts!
As a part of our Imagine the Smiles initiative, 1-800-Flowers.com teamed up with the Pajama Program, a non-profit organization that provides new pajamas and books to children in need, to honor six of their volunteers with autumn-themed floral arrangements. 1-800-Flowers.com teamed up with Little Shelter, one of Long Island's oldest no-kill shelters dedicated to saving all companion animals whose lives are in jeopardy, by providing floral arrangements for its Costume Ball event at Chateau La Mer in Lindenhurst, NY. The event was filled with vibrant floral decor, centerpieces and our truly original a-DOG-ables, pictured here with two Little Shelter staff members.
As a part of our Imagine the Smiles initiative, 1-800-Flowers.com teamed up with (618) 555-4822, an impassioned community and non-profit organization for young adults with Down Syndrome, by surprising families with floral bouquets and letters from The Congratulations Project at the New Parent Family Reception. Local 1-800-Flowers|Flowerama floral shop in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, recently hosted Daisy Girl Scout Troop #5931, where the shop's manager, Diane Petersen taught the Troop how to make carnation corsages. The Troop, which is from College Community School Prairie Heights and Prairie View Elementary, will deliver smiles to mother's at the Emeritus Silver Pines Senior Care Center in honor of Mother's Day.
Alysse R. and her students of the Roslyn High School Life Skills Program nominated the administrative professionals of Roslyn High School. Students were given the opportunity to take a floral design class at the 1-800-FLOWERS.COM headquarters in Carle Place, where they each made a spring floral arrangement. The students hand-delivered these arrangements to the school's hard-workingadministrative professionals in honor of Administrative Professional's Week. In honor of the Monday Mornings premiere, TNT treated nurses and staff in Winthrop's adult inpatient Oncology/Hematology Unit, residents at the Yawkey Family Inn in Boston, adult and pediatric patients at MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington, D.C. and University Hospital Seidman Cancer Center, UH MacDonald Womenâs Hospital and UH Case Medical Center in Cleveland to beautiful bouquets to kick off their week with a smile.
